Alzheimer Walk for Memories
May 2020 — Donelda Stewart, a founding member of our club, sadly passed away in the fall of 2018. She was also instrumental in founding the Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce. The Zonta Club of Owen Sound will continue to be supportive of the Walk for Memories in support of the Alzheimer’s Society, Grey-Bruce. Annual Ladies’ Golf Tournament in Support of Local Breast Cancer Initiatives
The Zonta Club of Owen Sound has made the difficult decision to cancel its 23rd Annual Ladies Golf Classic scheduled for June 19th, 2020. The Ontario government has expended all emergence orders again until May 6th. These orders include the closure of outdoor amenities in parks and recreational areas (including golf courses), non-essential workplaces, public places and bars and restaurants, along with restrictions on social gatherings. There is speculation what while some easing of these orders may be imminent, there may be continuing restrictions on social gatherings and the continuance of social distancing practices.
We would like to thank everyone for the support we have received for this event over the past 22 years and look forward to advising you of our plans for the 2021 tournament later in the year.
